These terms govern your use of this site. All written and visual content is our intellectual property unless someone else is credited. You may not scrape, mirror, or republish substantial portions for commercial purposes. Pricing, availability, and product information are provided as accurately as we can manage but may be updated or corrected at any time; the price you see when you confirm an order is the price you pay. We may decline service for any reasonable cause, including out-of-stock items or suspected misuse, and will refund any payment in full. Our liability for defects is limited to repair, replacement, or refund of the item itself. Statutory consumer protections in your jurisdiction apply. Any disputes are subject to the courts of the country in which we are registered.
Tableware from small kilns varies in glaze, weight, and dimension between pieces. Linen varies in weave and shade between production runs. Photographs show one representative example. Variation is the point of buying from a workshop rather than a factory, and is not a defect.
Where a piece is decorated by hand, no two are identical. If you need a matched set, tell us and we will pick from a single firing where we can — or say honestly that we cannot.
We state on each product page whether something is dishwasher and microwave safe. Following that guidance matters: thermal shock cracks glaze, and a piece damaged that way is not a manufacturing fault. Care instructions come with every order.
Unused goods can be returned within fourteen days in their original packaging. Breakage in transit is our problem, not yours — send a photo and we will replace or refund.
Japanese law applies. Disputes are heard by the Kyoto District Court at first instance.
Small workshops produce in runs. When something sells out we often cannot say when or whether it returns. We will tell you honestly rather than take a back-order we cannot fill.
As the makers we carry change, these terms are revised to match. The revised text and its effective date appear on this page; continuing to use the site after that date means you accept them.
Where a clause cannot be enforced, the remaining terms continue unchanged. Japanese consumer law applies over anything on this page that would conflict with it.

Ceramics are packed to survive a courier's worst day, which means more material than you might like. Where a maker supplies their own packaging we keep it, because it is usually part of the object.
If something arrives broken, photograph it in the box before unpacking further. That single photo settles every claim we have ever had with a courier.
We are responsible for describing a piece accurately — maker, material, dimensions, and care requirements — and for packing it properly.
We are not responsible for damage from use outside the stated care guidance, or for a piece not suiting a space. Dimensions are on every listing precisely so that second problem can be avoided before ordering.
Where a maker discontinues something, we cannot compel them to produce more, and we will say so plainly rather than taking a back-order.
Prices reflect what the makers charge us plus what it costs to store and ship carefully. When a workshop raises its prices, ours follow, and we would rather explain that than thin the quality to hold a number.
We do not run seasonal sales. Occasional seconds — pieces with a glaze flaw a maker would not sign off — are sold as seconds and described as such.
